Dwayne Johnson startled fans with his newest action, inspiring people to sing along to Moana 2 amid outrage about theatrical decorum.
The Red One star, who is preparing for his role as the demigod Maui in Moana 2 opposite Auli'i Cravalho, who voices Moana, said at the UK premiere that fans should dance along to the songs since it is the "fun part" of seeing a musical.
During an exclusive interview with BBC News, The Rock discussed his opinions on singing along in theaters, despite the increased laws and restrictions.
He told the newspaper, "Especially if you like music, that's the best part.
"Sing! You paid your hard-earned money for a ticket to a show, and you're enjoying it. Sing."
This news follows the recent dispute over cinema theater etiquette ahead of Jon M Chu's highly anticipated musical Wicked.
Authentic outlets like AMC encourage moviegoers to follow the regulations, which clearly ban singing at any moment throughout the film.
The theater released a brief Wicked-themed preshow caution film, noting, "At AMC Theaters, quiet is golden. No chatting. No texting. No singing. There was no wailing. No flirting. And no name-calling. Enjoy the enchantment of the movies."
Moana 2 is set to be released in UK theaters on November 27, 2024.
