The highly anticipated final season of Netflix's Stranger Things is almost here.
After pandemic delays and Hollywood strikes pushed production back, Season 5 is now set to premiere in 2025, a year sooner than previously anticipated.
Production began in January 2024 and reached its halfway mark in July. The season will include eight episodes, with Netflix unveiling the titles on Stranger Things Day (November 6, 2024).

A teaser film promises "one last adventure" starting in the fall of 1987, revealing a time leap more than a year after Season 4's events.
New characters and cast members
Season 5 features new cast members Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux, as well as returning cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, and more. Linda Hamilton joins the cast, although her role remains unknown.
Max and Eddie's destiny
Sadie Sink's character Max Mayfield's destiny is unknown, however Sink has stated that she will be "running in some way" in Season 5. Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, is most certainly dead, however Quinn intimated that he could return.
Behind-the-scenes
Frank Darabont, the Shawshank Redemption director, returns from retirement to oversee Season 5, together with the Duffer brothers and Shawn Levy.
The Stranger Things universe expands
While Season 5 marks the series' finale, the universe will live on through the stage production Stranger Things: The First Shadow and an upcoming animated spinoff series.
"In the fall of 1987, one last adventure begins," the teaser video says.
"If season 4 was big, season 5 definitely feels bigger," Jamie Campbell Bower (Vecna) stated in a behind-the-scenes clip.
