Annie Wersching, the voice artist for The Last of Us in the video game, died of cancer at the age of 45.
"There is a chasm in our family's spirit today," Wersching's husband, actor Stephen Full, said in a statement.
"But she did leave us the means to fill it. She discovered wonder in the most mundane of circumstances. She did not need music to dance. She told us that you should not wait for the adventure to find you. 'Go look for it. It's everywhere,' and we'll locate it."
Her career began in 2002 with a guest appearance on Star Trek: Enterprise, and she went on to appear on Frasier, Angel, Charmed, Boston Legal, and Supernatural.
She also appeared as FBI special agent Renee Walker in the sixth season of 24, and her resume includes cameo appearances on CSI, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, and Castle.
"My heart is crushed in more pieces than I can count," said Jon Cassar, director and producer of 24. "Annie entered my life with an open heart and sparkling grin. She stole my breath away with her talent.
Annie became more than a coworker; she became a true friend to me, my family, and every member of the cast and crew who worked with her.
She will be sorely missed by them and the many admirers she took the time to communicate with. Annie, you will be missed; you left your imprint on us all, and we are better for it."
Wersching also played Tess in the computer game The Last of Us, a part played by Anna Torv in HBO's adaption.
