Later this month, Halo Studios will "deep dive" into the franchise's future at a panel at Halo World Championship. In June, the developer promised to provide an update on the Halo games that were being developed at HaloWC in October. The esports competition will be held in Seattle, Washington, from October 24 to October 26.
Halo Studios revealed that it will be participating in a panel on the first day of the event, October 24, in a recent update on the Halo Waypoint website.
There are several Halo games in development
Over the past year, the developer has been gradually releasing information about future Halo titles that are in development. Halo Studios revealed their rebranding from 343 Industries at the 2024 Halo World Championship. Additionally, the creator acknowledged that other Halo games were being developed on Epic Games' Unreal Engine 5.
New Halo video created in Unreal Engine 5 was released at the time by Halo Studios as part of a project called "Foundry," which the firm said will lay the groundwork for next Halo games. The video did not come from a Halo game that the team was working on.
Halo Studios stated in June of this year that it will "continue the conversation" at HaloWC in October and return with information on ongoing Halo projects.
According to the developer's update, "Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won't want to miss this year's Halo World Championship."
The several Halo initiatives that are currently under development lack formal specifics. However, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer stated at the Xbox Games Showcase in June that the "return of a classic" will occur in 2026, the year of Xbox's 25th anniversary, implying that a remake or remaster of Halo: Combat Evolved was in the works.
"I'm thrilled to share that players will get to celebrate 25 years of Xbox with a new Fable, the next Forza, Gears of War: E-Day, and the return of a classic that's been with us since the beginning," Spencer said during the show as they considered introducing a new generation of gamers to these legendary franchises.
At the Tokyo Game Show last week, Microsoft revealed Forza Horizon 6 for 2026, while Gears of War: E-Day has already been confirmed.
