Ed Sheeran captivated fans when he returned to social media after a long absence, admitting he was MIA due to "turbulent situations" in his personal life.
The Perfect singer took to Instagram to explain his absence from social media and why he hasn't been "engaged" with his fans online.
"I realise I haven't been as active with my social media or audience over the last couple of years, and the things that have been put on this account may have become a little dull, I'm sorry, that's my responsibility," he stated in the film.
"The reason I'm creating this video, just being absolutely honest, I've had some stormy things occurring in my personal life so I just didn't really feel like being online and trying to be somebody I'm not when I wasn't really feeling like that.
"I realise it seems strange, but I'm doing this video to convey that things are looking up and that I'm back online," the singer continued. "You know, weird s**t is going to start appearing here."
Before closing, Sheeran disclosed that he filmed the video around 50 times and said, "I'm not producing another one!"
The Shape of You hitmaker took a social media break in November of last year, just after completing a new video.
Sheeran provided some behind-the-scenes shots from his single video, "I'm signing off till 2023. See you in the coming year. Many thanks, Ed x."
