Clara Chia Marti, Gerard Pique's ladylove, experienced an anxiety attack after Shakira released her bombshell diss song.
According to the Spanish news site Marca, the 23-year-old public relations student has been seeking counselling to help control her anxiety, which has worsened since the race.
According to El Periodico, Clara went to the Hospital Quironsalud, a private facility in Barcelona, for psychiatric therapy because her mental health had been harmed.
Constant criticism has "taken its toll on" Clara since the Waka Waka singer published her song criticising the former Barcelona star and his new partner.
""They stop her on the street and ask her who she is, they sing the song to her, everyone recognises her, and she is quite a shy girl," said Lorena Vazquez, a Spanish journalist.
According to The Sun, another writer, Saul Ortiz, stated that Clara's mental health is "not good" following the publication of the Colombian singer's Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.
"She's been working from home at her parents' place for approximately eight days," Ortiz explained. "She needed a refuge since her mood was bad."
"It's not easy to be a 23-year-old girl on the lips of Spain and the rest of the globe," the journalist remarked. "It had worn her down, and she needed one more step."
"There has been a permanent guard, who has not been seen to depart. She required expert guidance at other, more specialised levels."
