With the return of Green Arrow, The Flash showrunner promised that season 9 of the series will be incredibly emotional.
Showrunner Eric Wallace discussed respecting Arrow's legacy and his emotional homecoming in a recent interview with TV Line.
Wallace added that he offered the concept of Amell's comeback to Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti, who loved it and requested that the showrunner pitch it to the actor.
"So I called Stephen — and this is all occurring in the period of 18 hours, mind you — and I talked him through everything," Wallace explains. "'I adore it,' he remarked. 'However, can we do this extra thing...?'"
While refraining from divulging the specific notion Amell had in mind the 34-year-old writer claimed that he thought it "amazing," adding, "And the call concluded with [Amell stating], 'I'm in. Let's get this done.' It occurred so quickly."
"We don't modify what happened in the eight seasons of Arrow," Wallace added. "We honour all of that," rather.
To defend the multiverse, the Arrow series, lead by Amell, created Gustin's Flash in the "Crisis of Infinite Earths" event.
"There won't be a dry eye in the house by the end of that episode," Wallace said, adding, "It's incredibly emotional."
In addition to Amell, The Flash will welcome back David Ramsey, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Sendhil Ramamurthy in season 9.
The Flash is a famous CW sci-fi series with nine seasons. The ninth and last season of the long-running show will premiere on February 8, 2023.
