The Crown actor Helena Bonham Carter recently observed that the renowned Netflix series is "ripped out of context".
"I don't really want to contribute to the whole affair," Helena stated in an interview with The Guardian.
"It's difficult, and it'll be misconstrued. And I believe it has received adequate attention," she continued.
"I should be careful here, too," said the actress, who played Prince Harry's great-aunt Princess Margaret in the series.
"I'm in it, and I enjoyed my episodes, but it's totally different today. 'The Crown' began as a historical drama, but it has since shifted into the present. But that is entirely up to them," she continued.
Meanwhile, Judi Dench slammed the show's creators, calling it "cruelly unfair" to the royal family.
"Despite officially acknowledging this week that 'The Crown' has always been a 'fictionalised drama,' the show creators have rejected all requests for a disclaimer at the opening of each episode," she stated.
"The moment has come for Netflix to rethink – for the sake of a mourning family and a nation, as a measure of respect to a sovereign who has served her people so tirelessly for 70 years, and to maintain its reputation in the eyes of its British subscribers," she continued.
