Prince Andrew is under increasing pressure to resign his royal Lodge following King Charles' recent financial blow to him.
The Duke of York has made a final choice on his opulent royal house after being cut off by the King.
Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie's father has opted to extend his grasp on his beloved residence by refusing to leave the Royal Lodge, clearly disobeying the monarch's choice.
Andrew does not wish to move into Frogmore Cottage, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's previous royal abode.
The 75-year-old King has closed the disgraced royal's funds, but he refuses to leave the property.
Hardman revealed that Charles ceased paying for Andrew's protection and cut off his royal income, but he is still refusing to leave his residence, where he has resided in for decades.
"The duke is no longer a financial burden on the king," writes Hardman in the latest version of his book, Charles III: latest monarch. A new court. The Inside Story.
The author went on to explain why Andrew is violating the King's edict, saying: "What I think he feels is that if he moves out of Royal Lodge, he is publicly admitting guilt for which he has not been proven."
Vickers further stated that Andrew's house requires costly renovations, and the property's maintenance charges are exorbitant. Vickers continued, "It appears that he is simply holding the fort and refusing to do the repairs, refusing to leave."
"He would do himself a great favour if he found an honorable way of moving somewhere else."
Meanwhile, royal specialist Rupert Bell disagrees, stating in a Times Radio interview that "one of the problems that Prince Andrew has is that he is occasionally convinced of his rightness, and he gets himself into hot water with his stubbornness, and sometimes his own arrogance has caused him to create these problems."
