Moana 2 is making a splash at the box office this Thanksgiving.
According to People, Disney's animated sequel launched in North American theaters on Wednesday, November 27, grossing $221 million in five days.
Families flocked to theaters to reunite with Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson's characters as they travel across Polynesia's oceans.
The sequel to 2016's Moana has already shattered several box office records, including the largest five-day opening of all time.
Moana 2 also broke new marks for the biggest Thanksgiving weekend release (three and five days), the greatest Thanksgiving debut, and the biggest Black Friday opening.
The film has been Walt Disney Animation Studios' largest launch, and it has made $386 million worldwide, making it the second-highest global picture premiere this year.
The film stars Rose Matafeo, David Fane, Hualā Chung, Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda, Temuera Morrison, and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as Cravalho (24), and Johnson (52).
While Moana 2 dominated the box office, Wicked continues to fly, collecting an additional $80 million this weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.
The Jon M. Chu-directed adaption, which debuted on November 22, made $114 million in its first weekend.
