John Cena rose to recognition as a professional wrestler after signing with WWE in 2001.
The wrestler-turned-actor is presently promoting his latest film, Heads of State, alongside Idris Elba.
In his most recent interview with Extra, the 48-year-old actor said that he will retire from WWE this year, but he also stated that he will remain an ambassador for the media organization until he is released.
In a statement, John said, "This is my final year in WWE. I'm going to retire this year. We're nearly halfway done, and I'm looking forward to finally ending in-ring competition."
The Suicide Squad star went on to say, "I will always be an ambassador for the WWE." I'll be a member of their family until they ask me to leave.
Cena's upcoming film Heads of State also stars Priyanka Chopra and Jack Quaid in crucial roles.
Ilya Naishuller directed the action thriller, which will be released on Prime Video on July 2, 2025.
Meanwhile, John appeared in the tenth installment of the critically acclaimed "Fast Saga" alongside Vin Diesel, Jason Momoa, and Ludacris.
