YouTube Music has been secretly updated with a new feature that enables users to read lyrics when offline. Users who have downloaded tunes with lyrics from YouTube Music will be able to see them even when their phone is not connected to the internet. Alphabet's music streaming platform implemented the feature ahead of competitors Spotify and Apple Music, which do not display lyrics while a device is offline. The service has previously implemented capabilities for voting on songs in collaborative playlists.
YouTube Music now automatically displays lyrics for downloaded songs
A Reddit user just noticed that lyrics to downloaded tunes are available on YouTube Music for Android (via Android Authority). There is no mention of the function in the release notes for current versions of the app available through the Play Store, and it appears to have been activated surreptitiously by the firm.

Even after installing the most recent version of YouTube Music for Android, Gadgets 360 was unable to confirm that the functionality worked. When it's ready, users will be able to hit the Lyrics tab to access music lyrics while offline. Meanwhile, user reports indicate that the feature is presently not available on YouTube Music for iOS.
It's worth noting that, while rivals Spotify and Apple Music allow users to browse lyrics while listening to music, neither platform has added support for offline lyrics. When you don't have an internet connection and want to listen to music, this function might be useful. These include long-haul flights and taking the metro through a region with weak network service.
YouTube said last month that it will introduce functionality for "voting" in playlists. This feature is accessible in collaborative playlists, which enable users to create playlists collaboratively, and it adds additional upvote and downvote buttons to each song in the playlist.
Once this feature is enabled on a user's account, they may vote on music in a collaborative playlist, which will either bring the track to the top or bottom of the list. According to the business, voting on these playlists is presently available on YouTube Music as well as the main YouTube app.
