The creators of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 fulfilled Jim Carrey's 'golden' dream.
Previously, the Mask star stated that he prefers a 'golden script' for his comeback to the big screen.
Keeping this in mind, director Jeff Fowler joked that they tried to satisfy his request by sending a unique copy of the screenplay to the actor's doorstep.
"We printed it out with 24-carat ink and delivered it to his doorstep."
Fowler went on, "I mean, not only did he come back, but he came back and did twice as much work."
According to the 46-year-old filmmaker, Jim worked really hard on this new project. He even helped design the prosthetics developed specifically for him in the film.
Jeff told SFX: "For him to create a whole new character within the world was certainly an exciting opportunity, and he just went all in."
He said, "No detail was too tiny. He helped design the prosthesis and everything. Talking about stuff to get your brain around, having filmed three films with Jim Carrey is a genuine mindbender."
Sonic 3 is another sequel to the 2020 film featuring iconic Sega characters.
Carrey, Keanu Reeves, Idris Elba, and Ben Schwartz will provide voiceovers for the new film, which is planned to be released in theaters on December 20.
