A statement tweeted by the Royal Family to commemorate Armed Forces Day has drawn criticism from some royal fans, who believe it appeared to omit two of the family's most notable veterans, Princes Harry and Andrew.
The homage, which was published on the Royal Family's official social media accounts, was intended to celebrate individuals who now serve or have served in the military.
"On this Armed Forces Day, I salute all personnel of the military. Thank you for your diligent efforts to preserve the UK and promote international peace.
We are deeply thankful for your efforts, frequently in the face of danger, and for those of your loved ones who provide support at home."
While many people welcomed the message, others pointed out the lack of any mention of Prince Harry, who completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan and has long advocated for veterans' causes, as well as Prince Andrew, a former Royal Navy helicopter pilot who served during the Falklands War.
Critics flocked to the comments section to express their dissatisfaction, accusing the Palace of allowing personal conflicts to eclipse military service.
One member commented: "No mention of Prince Harry? That says it all," while another commented, "You don't have to like them, but you can't take away their services."
The position comes amid persistent difficulties within the royal family, notably after Harry's retirement from royal responsibilities in 2020 and Andrew's protracted seclusion from public life following recent issues.
