King Charles traveled to Staffordshire on Sunday to commemorate the 80th anniversary of JCB, after Prince William and Kate Middleton's lovely news of their new adventure together.
The 76-year-old grinned as he pulled a pint during a visit to the family-run Tower Brewery in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, which produces up to a quarter of the country's beer.
Charles cracked a joke before sipping a pint of Gone for a Burton, a typical mid-strength beer and one of the brewery's most popular special brands.
Owner John Mills, who poured a pint for the king, asked, "Are you going to have a slurp of that, Sir?"
The King chuckled, remarking that otherwise, he was "in the wrong place." He raised his glass, saying, "To your very good health," before taking a sip.
The King smelled the clear drink before taking a sip. "Mmmm... interesting," he remarked, laughing, adding, "Yes, it's supercharged."
Rebecca English, a royal specialist, also tweeted the news on X (previously Twitter), along with photographs of King Charles: "Now that's a royal arrival!" The King goes past a mechanical honor guard as he arrives to commemorate @JCBmachine's 80th anniversary, where he will meet employees and apprentices on the manufacturing floor at JCB World Headquarters in Rocester!"
The King appeared to be in a joyful mood following the return of the Prince and Princess of Wales to the UK after their family vacation overseas, ahead of several important royal engagements.
