Amazon unveiled an updated version of the Kindle Paperwhite in India on Wednesday, adding additional features. The e-reader now has a bigger 7-inch e-ink screen that claims to have the greatest contrast ratio of any Kindle to yet. Powered by a dual-core CPU, the all-new Kindle Paperwhite can provide up to 25% quicker page turns without sacrificing battery life. Notably, this model was released internationally in October 2024, alongside the Kindle Scribe, Colorsoft Signature Edition, and entry-level Kindle, and is currently making its way to India.
Kindle Paperwhite Price and Availability in India
The all-new Kindle Paperwhite with 16GB of internal storage is available in India for Rs. 16,999. It is available in a single black hue and can be purchased via the Amazon India website.
Customers may also purchase e-book reader cases in black, Marine Green, and Tulip Pink, which cost Rs. 1,999.
Kindle Paperwhite Specifications
The Kindle Paperwhite has a 7-inch e-ink display with 12 white and 13 amber LEDs and a pixel density of 300 pixels per inch (ppi). It is supposed to contain a novel oxide thin-film transistor for higher contrast ratios. Amazon claims that its new reader has smaller boundaries, resulting in more screen real estate and a higher screen-to-body ratio. Its measurements are 127.5 x 176.7 x 7.8mm, and it weighs 211 grams. The new e-reader is described as the thinnest Kindle Paperwhite ever.
According to the business, the e-book reader is powered by a new dual-core CPU, which leads to 25% quicker page flips and enhanced keyword-touch response. Amazon has provided the Kindle Paperwhite with 16GB of inbuilt storage. Users may also adjust between light and dark settings based on their preferences and the surroundings they're reading in, such as direct sunlight or dimly lit environments.
The Kindle Paperwhite is said to be waterproof. Amazon claims the battery may last up to three months (or 12 weeks) on a single charge. The e-book reader has a USB Type-C connector for charging.
