Gabriel Macht discussed his emotional return to the smash legal drama's spinoff Suits L.A. as a guest role.
Macht portrayed Harvey Spector, the no-nonsense attorney, on Suits from 2011 to 2019, and the first scene he shot for the spin-off sent him back many years.
Macht told People, "We ended up shooting the first couple scenes at Rancho Park, which is where I practiced high school baseball."
"So getting into a uniform and playing baseball for that scene, not only was it nostalgic just to be Harvey again," the actor explained.
The event took on further significance when he was joined by the original showrunner, Aaron Korsh, as well as the same directors and writers.
So Because I Said The star's father, fellow actor Stephen Macht, was also present since Macht had requested him to take part in the scenario.
"There he is sitting in the stands... where he used to watch me play [as a kid]," recounts the player. "That was a full circle moment," the actor explained.
Aside from the emotional occasion, the actor found it simple to step back into Harvey's shoes despite being out of the profession since 2019.
"It was a little surprising that it was easy only in that Aaron didn't write really impossibly difficult dialogue for me," remarked Gabriel. "For once."
Previously, the father of two told the publication that he had little interest in returning to the acting business, but opted to reprise Harvey as "a way that I could sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in L.A."
Suits L.A. airs weekly episodes on Sundays on NBC.
