Florence Pugh has opened out about the 'risk act' she performed for her part as Black Widow, Yelena Belova, in her new film.
In an interview with Deadline, the We Live In Time actress spoke openly about her experience making Thunderbolts*, an action adventure movie.
Recalling the scenario in which she had to leap from the Merdeka 118 skyscraper, the world's second highest structure, she explained that to overcome her anxiety of the stunt, she entered Yelena's head.
"Yelena saved me because in that scene she's not supposed to be scared, she's supposed to just be, like, chilling up there," the Hollywood actress explained. "So I had to pretend to be her. 'It's alright; I'm simply dangling with my feet from that incredible height.' So it did rescue me."
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old actress stated that it is her obligation as an artist 'to safeguard and defend' her representation of a character by putting herself in her shoes.
Before ending, she stated, "There's so much on the page, but it's really what you put in the last 20% that makes any character that any actor portrays. There are so many -isms that I was very glad to use into the film."
Thunderbolts* is slated for release on May 2, 2025.
