Jenna Ortega sat down for a candid conversation and was open about where she wants to take her career after ten years of "putting the puzzle pieces together in my head."
The Wednesday actor laid it all out for V Magazine, and the conversation began right away when she said something she'd been working on in her thoughts for over a decade.
According to the Scream actress, "I have a script that I've known I was going to make for almost 10 years."
Nonetheless, "it's weird because it's something that I thought of when I was younger and when I first started out in this field, and it's only now that I'm actually starting to take the steps to get it made, which is really interesting."
However, she made it plain that for the time being, "I'm just putting the puzzle pieces together in my head."
As a result, "I think I needed a few years of that under my belt to understand the order of doing things," she explained.
Plus, "I see myself in this one, but I really want to direct. That's probably the major thing I want to do. I see it for myself. I just feel like that's how my brain likes to function and think, and it's how I sometimes see my acting.
Before she concluded, she gave fans a glimpse into what the future might look like when she does step into order roles, saying, "I don't want to be in the things that I create in the future, but starting out, because I've created more leverage for myself with a name as an actor, I may as well use that as a stepping stone."
For those who are unaware, while the star has yet to direct, she did serve as an executive producer on the horror comedy Death of a Unicorn, and another season of the smash program will premiere on Wednesday.
