Luke Bryan remained riveted to the television while watching the webcast of his former American Idol co-judge Katy Perry blasting off into space.
During his visit on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, the country artist revealed he was "roped in" to witness Perry's Blue Origin trip live, despite having no knowledge it was coming until Monday morning, April 14.
Bryan couldn't take his gaze away after realizing the launch was taking place.
"They're in the Rivian, they're headed to the capsule, and I'm sitting there strolling, and it tied me in," he said, adding, "Because when you have a friend — let's face it, it may blow up. So I hoped it wouldn't do that.
Before launch, Bryan texted Perry, "Good luck, wow, that's crazy you're getting to do that."
Bryan, who was in awe of the occasion, isn't ready to follow in her footsteps just yet.
"I probably would do it just because — I mean, you gotta take that chance," he remarked, before acknowledging that his family would most certainly say "a resounding no."
