Meghan Markle seemed to make an unexpected gesture for her father-in-law, King Charles, despite their continuing feud.
The king and his younger son, Prince Harry, are apparently still estranged and have not talked since the Duke of Sussex made an emergency dash after learning of his father's illness diagnosis last year.
While the King continues his treatment, Harry's friends stated that the Duke has called and texted his father countless times but has been ignored. In an apparent effort to appease the father and son, Meghan intervened by sending a bespoke basket of As Ever items as a peace offering.
The Duchess of Sussex launched her lifestyle business earlier this month, and her line was reportedly sold out within hours. According to royal analyst Ian Pelham Turner, this is Meghan's attempt to send an olive branch despite her complaints.
"I understand how she may not feel respected still, but tiny gestures like this are her way of showing compassion for what the king is going through and helping to rebuild bridges between Prince William, Prince Harry and the king," said the reporter for Fox News Digital.
He talked about how "conciliatory gifts from the hostess with the mostess could shine."
Meanwhile, writer Helena Chard noted that it may take some time to determine if Meghan's present was received by the King.
Regardless matter how good or awful the present is for the King, Chard stated that Charles will be "relieved that his daughter-in-law is trying to keep the wolves from the door".
While this suggests that the schism between the Sussexes and the royals may finally be healing, Chard stated that "this will be a fleeting thought as it's business as usual for the king."
