Prince Harry looks to be poking the proverbial bear with his deliberate attempt to insult his brother Prince William, who is facing a danger to his royal title.
King Charles' two sons have not spoken since Harry wrote his bombshell memoir, Spare, and disrespected the royal family with several other public statements.
However, Harry's newest prank had left the future King "fuming" at Palace officials, and a royal expert believes it was a premeditated attempt by the Duke of Sussex to irritate his brother.
Following his 'disappointing' two-day judicial hearing over UK police protection, Harry paid a surprise visit to Ukraine last week to meet with battle warriors.
Meanwhile, insiders say the Prince of Wales is furious with officials for refusing to allow him to visit the war-torn country despite his expressed desire to do so. Kensington Palace has advised him against travelling owing of security concerns.
"That's the kind of thing that would absolutely infuriate William," Mail on Sunday Editor-at-Large Charlotte Griffiths told GB News.
"Harry can get away with things that William simply cannot. William recently visited Estonia since he was unable to travel to Ukraine. "He obviously wanted to go to Ukraine, but he couldn't because of security concerns," she added.
"And I'm sure Harry must plan these things. He must design them to irritate his brother. I can't help but suspect it's purposeful. I really can't see it any other way."
The insider comments concerning William followed reports that William is now actively working to take titles from Harry and Meghan Markle. According to sources, if King Charles is unwilling to do so, William will do so once he becomes king.
As Harry's 'Duke of Sussex' title was threatened, it's conceivable he intended to remind William of what he can get away with.
"For all this talk about spare Harry grumbles that he was 'the spare' but William has found it so frustrating, and has done all his life, that Harry gets special treatment he's never had," according to the specialist.
She further said that William becomes "furious" about the "little things" Harry is permitted to do, and the Duke is fully aware of this.
It is not uncommon for siblings to become petty when things do not go as planned. And, while Harry's primary goal may not be to humiliate his estranged brother, he would be pleased if the act also accomplished that.
