Star Wars director Shawn Levy applauded Ryan Gosling's performance in the upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter.
According to the Stranger Things executive producer, Gosling is a welcome addition to the Star Wars cast.
Levy teased fans about Gosling's role in Stranger Things: The First Shadow during an interview with People magazine on the night of the film's Broadway premiere.
"If you can have Ryan Gosling in anything you make, do that, because that's going to make the thing so much better and cooler," he told the media company.
The Deadpool and Wolverine producer also stated that he likes "the idea of pairing" Gosling "and his kind of uniquely cool ethos with Star Wars."
"I haven't seen that pairing, and that gets me really excited," Levy joked.
Earlier this month, at the Star Wars Celebration event in Tokyo, Levy confirmed that the film will be a standalone picture set many years after 2019's Star Wars - Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
The plot specifics for Starfighter have yet to be revealed, and Gosling is the only confirmed cast member as of yet, but fans can expect a new adventure with all-new characters.
