Whoopi Goldberg faked to sleep to avoid discussing the newest Meghan Markle issue, which emerged after it was found that she reportedly used her royal titles.
Since their retirement as senior working royals, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry are no longer permitted to use their HRH titles.
On the most recent edition of The View, Goldberg made it obvious that she did not want to discuss Meghan or the new turmoil in her life.
When Meghan's use of her royal title in a message to a pal was brought up, the 69-year-old actress playfully exclaimed "Damn them!" and feigned to fall asleep while her co-hosts debated it.
After the episode, she "woke up" and stated that it made her more uncomfortable that the message was released publicly, adding that if someone gives you a present, it should not be displayed. Sunny Hostin, her co-host, agreed, and Whoopi said with a grin, "I'm old enough to be insightful."
When asked if it was "a bad look for Meghan to still refer to herself as a royal," Goldberg promptly replied, "Let me know when you're finished!"
She then pretended to fall asleep and "woke up" after her co-hosts had finished the debate.
"Can I ask a really dumb question that I just woke up for?" she inquired, adding, "It's the subject matter."
Goldberg went on to say that "it's cringier" that Meghan's buddy made her message public.
"I believe that if someone gives you a gift... I don't think she needed to reveal that," she added, then quipped when her opinion was appreciated, "Well, sure, I'm old enough to be perceptive."
