Colin Jost, a Saturday Night Live cast member, transformed his real-life ferry investment into comic material for the show's May 3 edition.
In a comedy titled Ferry Altercation, presented by Quinta Brunson, Jost made a surprise appearance as a fictionalized version of himself attempting to sell the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry he acquired with Pete Davidson in 2022.
Brunson and Mikey Day depicted people bickering in their parked automobiles on a boat. When Day's character stated his love of ferries, Jost, clad in a Hawaiian shirt, tapped on the vehicle window and joked, "If you love ferries, would you like to buy one?"
According to US Weekly, Jost's attempt to sell the boat was met with awkward refusals, prompting him to change his pitch by joking, "Hey, I'm Pete Davidson!", referring to his fellow Staten Island native and co-investor in the ferry, which the duo intends to convert into a multi-purpose entertainment venue.
Furthermore, Davidson has previously stated that the project, which includes plans for a restaurant, theater, and hotel rooms, is still in the works and might take up to five years to complete.
Furthermore, the two comedians have been negotiating with investors to secure approximately $100 million for the ambitious renovation.
