Dylan Dreyer has revealed what Sheinelle Jones is up to during her absence from the Today 3rd Hour broadcast.
While speaking with E! News at the 2025 Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs in Louisville on Saturday, May 3, the 43-year-old American meteorologist discussed her co-host's continual absence due to a "family health matter."
Regarding Jones, Dreyer stated, "She's doing OK. She's hanging in there. We pray for her and her family. You know, she's going through a difficult period with her family."
"We chat with her every day. One of us on the team speaks with her every day, and we're here to support her. We'll welcome her back with open arms the moment she gets back to us," she said.
Jones, who co-hosts 3rd Hour alongside Dreyer, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin, hasn't been on the show since December 2024.
Notably, she addressed her absence on Instagram in January, saying, "I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I've been absent from the show." I'd want to inform you that I'm taking time to deal with a family health issue."
"It's not lost on me how fortunate I am to have the support of not just my Today show family, but also all of you. Your kindness means a lot to me. "I'll see you soon," Jones said.
It is worth noting that in an interview with Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, Carson Daly stated that he is unsure about the 47-year-old American journalist's return to the show.
