An anti-monarchy party has questioned Prince Andrew's promotion to the rank of Vice Admiral in 2015.
Republic referenced the Duke of York when it highlighted a BBC article stating that Royal Navy Adm Sir Ben Key had been dismissed from his responsibilities due to suspicions of wrongdoing.
The group shared the item on X, writing that Andrew remained vice admiral despite claims of a number of major sex offenses.

Some commenters challenged Republic's assertion, citing a story that Queen Elizabeth withdrew his military titles in 2022.
However, others say he is not using his honorary military titles, while holding the rank of Vice Admiral.
Due to the issue surrounding Andrew's relationship with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the late queen revoked his honorary military titles and royal charity patronage.
