Hoda Kotb recently had an interview with Kelly Clarkson, raising suspicion that she may be in line to replace the singer on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
However, Page Six has discovered that Kotb was only a guest on the show to discuss her new self-titled health company, not to take over the midday slot.
Although the interview has not yet aired, and it is unknown whether the rumors will be addressed in the program, many sources have stated that Kotb is not being considered as Clarkson's replacement.
Instead, she is presently focused on launching her new company, which will be celebrated with a large celebration in New York City on May 28.
Meanwhile, speculation regarding Clarkson's future role on the program persists.
There has been speculation that she is considering leaving both the program and New York City. Still, a source told us last week that Clarkson's staff is hopeful that she would agree to stay for at least two more years.
NBC officials are apparently "very pleased" with the prospect, stating that they are "very fond" of both Clarkson and her program.
Despite the confidence, some members of the network are skeptical.
One NBC insider informed Page Six that her return is not certain, and the Daily Mail claimed on Monday that several employees are concerned about their job security.
"Not feeling too stable," one unnamed staff member allegedly stated. "She may go at any time. "Where does that leave me?"
According to the same source, a show producer remarked, "Everyone loves Kelly," and described her as "a wonderful person," but added, "Maybe Hoda would be a better boss." I know she is generally loved and respected by her former coworkers. Maybe she would be okay. She would certainly be more steady than what we've been going through."
"If Hoda wants to do it, it could be a win-win for everyone," the insider explained.
Concerns over Clarkson's future have grown since March, when she missed more than two weeks of her program without explanation.
At the time, TMZ stated that she was "completely fine" and was "dealing with a personal matter that does not directly involve her." The insider added that the situation was not "a cause for alarm."
As fans and crew await answers, one thing is certain: Clarkson and Kotb are both going through big upheavals, and the future of The Kelly Clarkson Show is uncertain.
