As he prepares for his next picture, Jackie Chan is finally revealing why Rush Hour 3 failed to impress reviewers.
During an exclusive interview with BuzzFeed on Wednesday, May 28, the 71-year-old actor listed his favorite films in chronological order.
Regarding the original 1998 film, Chan stated, "I don't know. You know what, the first one: little money and little time. We filmed it like, 'Go, go, go!' The second one requires a significant amount of money and time. The third one is "too much money and too much time."
He asserted that the first Rush Hour was still one of the most popular pictures of 1998, and attributed the sequels' lack of critical praise to their failure to equal the first film's success.
The talented actor went on to say, "Too much money is not good."
While Chan and Tucker have not cooperated on a film in two decades, the Rush Hour star hinted at the potential of a fourth installment in the franchise.
The actor's next film, Karate Kid: Legends, is set to launch on Thursday, May 30.
