Joshua Jackson recently recounted his experience bringing his kid to the set of Karate Kid: Legends.
Speaking to PEOPLE at the film's premiere on May 27, the Dawson's Creek star said that he brought his five-year-old daughter, Juno, whom he shares with Jodie Turner-Smith, on set.
Joshua recalled his daughter's five or six-day journey to Montreal, where his brother lived.
"It was a family trip and I brought her on set the day that we were doing the fight scene," says the 46-year-old actor.
That was "really dumb" according to the Affair actor.
"She did not like seeing her dad get beat up," he said.
As a result, Joshua stated, "I don't think I'll watch it with her during the theatrical run, but within a couple years, I think we'll be fine."
The Fringe actor revealed that this was the first time he had taken her to work.
During the conversation, Joshua also revealed that he has some plans for summer.
"She graduates from school or from [Transitional Kindergarten] TK in a couple of weeks, and then we got some summer camp and we'll figure it out after that," said the character actor.
In another interview with TODAY, Joshua discussed his physical training for the film, during which he gained 20 pounds.
I wander about at 175. "I paid nearly 195 for the movie," he said.
Joshua said, "It was harder than I expected. "I was eating 4,000 calories per day."
Meanwhile, Karate Kids: Legends will open in theaters on May 30.
