King Charles III and his wife Queen Camilla shared an emotional massage following the sad tragedy, eliciting a sorrowful reaction from Canada.
The royal couple are horrified and saddened after hearing dreadful news from the United Kingdom, offering their sincere sympathies to everyone impacted by "the terrible incident in Liverpool on Monday evening."
The King and Queen, who are on an official tour to Canada, issued a joint statement hours after a vehicle drove into a crowd of Liverpool supporters during a celebration, injuring 27 people.
The horrific event occurred when many were celebrating legendary moments from their team's Premier League victory.
Buckingham Palace announced the King and Queen's status on the royal family's official Instagram account.
"My wife and I are deeply shocked and saddened by to hear of the terrible events that took place in Liverpool," according to a release.
According to the statement, "my special gratitude goes out to the first responders, emergency services personnel, and other individuals who rushed to the aid of the injured."
