LinkedIn is introducing a new artificial intelligence (AI) function that will allow users to effortlessly search for appropriate positions. The Sunnyvale, California-based professional networking site launched its AI job search tool in the United States earlier this month. It is currently increasing its worldwide reach, including in India. The AI tool allows professionals to enter the desired position as a natural language query, and it will discover and display appropriate roles. Notably, the new AI capability will be exclusive to LinkedIn Premium customers.
LinkedIn’s new AI tool will make it easier to find jobs
In a press statement, the firm unveiled the new AI function and described how it will benefit professionals. According to a poll performed by LinkedIn, 60% of professionals in Bengaluru struggle to locate job titles and sectors, even when they are open to new opportunities.
According to the poll, one of the top three ways professionals define career development is by finding a work that matches their talents and ambitions. Noting this bottleneck, LinkedIn announced the creation of a new AI-powered tool that simplifies the search for the appropriate job.
With the new AI-powered job search experience, users will be able to input their search terms in simple language. For example, an early-career software engineer may search for "full-stack software developer jobs in Bengaluru that are hybrid or remote work," and the AI tool would return results that met all of these criteria.
LinkedIn claims that the new job search experience eliminates the need for keyword searches, which may not comprehend the whole context of what the user is seeking for and display a significant number of irrelevant positions. It also eliminates the need for manual screening and scrolling through numerous pages to discover a position that they prefer. "AI-powered job search is designed to make job discovery more relevant, helping them make career moves with greater confidence," the firm explained.
Currently, only LinkedIn Premium subscribers may use the AI-powered job search function. The membership package costs Rs. 499 per month and includes AI tools for interview preparation, career planning, and more.
