Meghan Markle may have issues about her time in the royal family, but the Duchess of Sussex brought a unique piece of the UK with her when she came to the United States.
Prince Harry and Meghan have been feuding with the royals since they left the firm in 2020. While the couple has made no secret of their dissatisfaction during their relationship, Meghan appears to have conveyed a message of love following the years-long split.
In a pivotal scene from her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, she made a precise gesture to indicate her sentiments about her time in the UK.
The Duchess wore a 'Love Pendant' by London jewelry designer Sophie Lis, which had a particular meaning.
Meghan unveiled the piece in 2020. Rosemonde Gérard, a French poet, wrote The Eternal Song, which inspired the diamond and ruby necklace. The etching reads "+ qu'hier" and "- que demain," which translates to "I love you more today than yesterday but less than tomorrow."
The designer told Page Six Style that the accessory is "particularly special" since 10% of each sale is given to Wild at Heart, a canine charity located in Notting Hill. Lis described it as representing "ever-growing love".
Lis explained, "Meghan was a fan of us from the beginning. She became aware of our brand shortly before moving to the United States, but there was no gifting; she absolutely purchased her things."
The pendant isn't her only adornment from the company. Meghan also wore the designer's 'Fallen Star Hoop Earrings' for her last day as a working royal, March 2020. Lis noted that the North Star-shaped earrings represent "protection from evil,"
"She's always been a great supporter and I'm very grateful for her raising awareness of the brand, especially as the storytelling behind each piece is meaningful," the designer told me. "Those Fallen Star Earrings are meant to offer guidance and direction; it's such a nice thought to follow the star."
