Meghan Markle was spotted having an emotional talk with her guest Sara Blakely, the founder of SPANX, on the final edition of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.
Sara discussed the vital importance her father played in influencing her thinking and her experience.
Meghan, 43, who had a long strained connection with her own father, Thomas Markle Senior, 80, responded by expressing respect for Blakely's father's impact.
'I recall reading, or perhaps you told me, that when you were younger, your father would ask around the dinner table. What did you fail to do this week? What did you fail at today? If you failed, at least you tried, and you tried magnificently, therefore it doesn't matter.
Meghan and her father have grown apart in recent years, although she has already acknowledged the essential role Thomas Senior played in her childhood.
