Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not been working royals since 2020, but they still use the titles Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
While detractors of the pair have long asked for their titles to be withdrawn, King Charles is considered to have no intention of doing so.
However, others predict that Prince William, 42, the next in line to the throne, may take a different approach, especially given that the brothers are apparently no longer communicating.
According to royal analyst Jennie Bond, there appears to be a popular thirst for depriving them of their titles, but I believe William would be reluctant to do so. It would appear, and really would be, rather spiteful. There's also the question of whether a monarch can actually accomplish this.
'Some titles may be abolished at the whim of the sovereign via an act of Parliament.
'She added: 'William may remain separated from his brother indefinitely, which would be a very sad state of affairs. But, if he does, I believe he will continue to consider Harry as unimportant to his life and the country. And I don't think he would bother with removing any of their titles.
For the time being, the Sussexes retain their titles, and personal reunion with the princess remains a distant possibility.
