Princess Anne visited the Royal Liverpool University Hospital today to personally thank emergency personnel following Monday's horrific tragedy, in which a driver slammed into people during Liverpool FC's Premier League winning parade.
During her visit, the Princess Royal spoke with local officials and emergency service professionals who helped manage the early response to the horrific tragedy, which harmed numerous people, including children.
According to authorities, four children were among those hurt. One kid and one adult were injured and sent to the hospital for treatment.
While in Liverpool, Princess Anne spoke with Liam Robinson, the Leader of Liverpool City Council, who had previously expressed sadness, adding that the tragedy 'cast a very heavy shadow over what had been a wonderful day for the city.'
She also met with Chris Barrett from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who provided information about the emergency measures put out in response to the incident.
