Ringo Starr was in his early teens when he became obsessed with being a drummer.
In a recent interview with Far Out Magazine, the Beatles drummer, 84, discussed his career and the legendary former rock band.
Starr told how the inspiration to become a drummer came to him while he was hospitalized with illness.
"When I was 13, I was hospitalized. We were all in bed with TB, and the music instructor came over to keep us occupied. "He gave me a little drum, and I knew I wanted to be a drummer right away," Starr told the outlet.
"I look at myself now; I'm still doing this, and that's what's far out," he explained.
According to the publication, despite the hatred the drummer received in public, Starr was one of the few individuals who lingered around after his engagement to listen to The Beatles play, always drinking bourbon at the bar as the Threetles sung their hearts out with Pete Best behind the kit.
The Beatles' separation took place 55 years ago on April 10th. Sam Mendes has revealed that four Beatles films would be released theatrically in April 2028.
The director also announced the appointment of Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
"It's a chance to understand them more deeply," Mendes said when he revealed the news at CinemaCon in March.
The film is also the first narrative movie to have music rights to the Beatles' enormous library of songs, including Strawberry Fields, Let It Be, I Am the Walrus, and Yellow Submarine, among others.
