Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is rumored to be in the works and is expected to be released in the second half of this year. Until recently, rumors suggested that the new Fan Edition smartphone will have the same Exynos 2400e processor as last year's Galaxy S24 FE. However, a recent report indicates that the Galaxy S25 FE will have a major processor improvement over its predecessor. The new FE phone is believed to be a toned-down version of the Galaxy S25.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Could Launch With a MediaTek Chipset
According to NoteBookCheck, unidentified sources suggest that Samsung may adopt the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor in the Galaxy S25 FE. Samsung will allegedly examine the Exynos 2400e as a first choice for the Galaxy S25 FE, but if Samsung Foundry is unable to satisfy manufacturing expectations for the Exynos processors, the company may switch to a MediaTek chipset.
The final decision is likely to change based on market circumstances. The Dimensity 9400 processor from MediaTek looks to be superior to the Exynos 2400e on paper. The brand is expected to prioritize its in-house chipset to boost Samsung Foundry's business and avoid the higher expenses connected with the TSMC-produced Dimensity 9400.
Last year's Galaxy S24 FE was powered by Samsung's Exynos 2400e CPU. The business was previously reported to forgo the chipset upgrade completely this year, instead using the same CPU in the forthcoming FE model. Aside from the Galaxy S25 FE, the rumored Galaxy Z Flip FE is also expected to employ the Exynos 2400e.
The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to come toward the end of Q3 2025, or the beginning of the fourth quarter. It is believed to be a diluted version of the original Galaxy S25, which used a special Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor.
Samsung's Galaxy S24 FE was released in September 2024, priced at Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. It has a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 8GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of onboard storage. It boasts three back cameras, including a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 10-megapixel selfie shooter. It has a 4,700mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging.
