Simon Pegg has lauded Tom Cruise for putting his life at risk for the sake of movies.
Speaking with THR, the actor and comedian, who reunited with Tom for the upcoming action thriller Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, stated that he has never seen the actor afraid when executing dangerous stunts.
"I have never seen him terrified. "I've seen him nervous," Simon said. "I've seen him both nervous and focused. But I don't believe he becomes terrified."
The 55-year-old said, "I don't believe he allows himself to be terrified. He is not careless. He understands the boundaries of what he does. "He is aware of the risks."
"He calculated them and exercised really hard. So he gets nervous as you would, but I've never seen him terrified," Simon explained.
Simon shared his favorite moments from the series with the site, saying he never expected to be engaged in so many important action sequences in the blockbuster franchise.
"I had a lot of fun driving a speedboat up the Seine river. "They basically closed the River Seine for me," he explained.
The Hot Fuzz star said, "There's a lot of water. In truth, it's all about water. I drove a water taxi through Venice and rescued, or rather removed, Sean Harris from a submerged armored car while wearing a rebreather, which is different than scuba.
"So every day on 'Mission' is like this. Bombing through Casablanca in a broken BMW, up on the hillside, watching Tom perform that cliff-jumping feat. "I mean, it's one of those jobs," Simon explained.
For those unfamiliar, Mission: Impossible 8 will be released in theaters in the United States on May 23, 2025.
