The royal family offers love to a special dog named by Queen Elizabeth

 

The royal family on Saturday conveyed warm birthday greetings to Freddy, a Trainee Medical Alert Assistance Dog named after the late Queen Elizabeth.

The birthday greeting appeared in the comments area of the charity's Instagram post.

The caption on the dog's photo released by the charity read: "Happy Birthday to Freddy!"

"Freddy, a trainee Medical Alert Assistance Dog, had his first birthday this week and was appropriately treated with presents from his puppy socialiser. They contained a tuggy toy and other goodies, but his favourite was the cuddly avocado!"

The dogs are taught to identify and warn people about life-threatening medical disorders including seizures or low blood sugar.

The organization stated, "Freddy has had an eventful first year and has progressed in leaps and bounds (sometimes literally) with his training. He is an expert at heelwork, recall, and settling in public, and his adventures have brought him to places like Crufts and the seaside, so he has previously experienced a variety of surroundings."

It stated: "Freddy was named by Medical Detection Dogs Patron, Her Majesty The Queen, and will one day give his client an incredible gift too - safety, confidence and independence."

The royal family commented on the charity's image of the dog, writing, "We hope Freddy had a waggy day - and we can't wait to see where he goes next this year!"
