Vercel, the company that created the first coding platform for web application development, v0, has released an artificial intelligence (AI) model. The v0 AI model was announced on Thursday and is available in a variety of formats, including an application programming interface (API). This is the company's first AI model. The San Francisco-based cloud platform as a service (PaaS) provider claims the AI model is optimized for web application development (front and backend) and is compatible with OpenAI's API.
Vercel's v0 AI Model Can Create Websites and Web Applications
The new AI model was unveiled in a post on X (previously known as Twitter), v0's official account. The same architecture powers the vibe coding platform v0, and the firm claims to specialize in website development skills. It is presently accessible in beta via the corporate API, as an AI software development kit (SDK), and through AI Playground.
We're releasing v0's AI model:

• Specialized web-dev knowledge
• OpenAI-compatible API
• Use in Cursor, Codex, or your own app
Now in beta in the API, AI SDK, or AI Playground.
Vercel claims that the AI model, formally dubbed v0-1.0-md, accepts both text and graphics as input and is meant to respond quickly. In addition, the model supports the OpenAI Chat Completions API format. It supports a context window of up to 1,28,000 tokens and a maximum output context size of 32,000 tokens. The model has a limit of 200 messages each day.
The v0 AI model can do framework-aware tasks and has been tested using Next.js and Vercel's stack. It can detect and correct faults, glitches, and other code mistakes during creation, as well as make inline adjustments as needed.
Notably, the v0 API is presently in beta for developers with an active Premium or Team membership with usage-based payment enabled. The AI model costs $3 (about Rs. 260) per million input tokens and $15 (approximately Rs. 1,290) for every million output tokens.
Vibe coding is gradually becoming a popular method of coding among developers. The concept relates to assigning coding assignments in normal language to AI models, which subsequently write the code. This sort of coding enables the human operator to play a strategy-driven role in the project, providing guidance, checking for faults, and ensuring the ultimate vision is realized.
