The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is rumored to be developing the Huawei Mate XT 2, its second tri-fold smartphone. A source has revealed information on the Huawei Mate XT 2, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2025.

In a Weibo post, tipster Digital Chat Station reports that Huawei will launch a new tri-fold smartphone in the second half of the year. This smartphone, maybe called Huawei Mate XT 2, is believed to have the same screen resolution as the original Mate XT Ultimate Design. This model is expected to include a new processor and have camera enhancements and other hardware advancements.
Previous rumors said that the Huawei Mate XT 2 might employ a Kirin 9020 chipset. It is expected to offer significant enhancements over the Kirin 9010 processor seen in the Mate XT Ultimate Design. Unfortunately, no additional details regarding the alleged triple foldable have been revealed thus far, but as its prospective release date approaches, we may expect to learn more about it shortly.

The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design was announced in China in September 2024, with an initial pricing of CNY 19,999 (about Rs. 2,35,900) for the 16GB RAM and 256GB storage model. It was also debuted in a few global markets in February.
The Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design comes with HarmonyOS 4.2. It has a 10.2-inch flexible LTPO OLED primary display. Folding it once shows a 7.9-inch display, and the second fold transforms it into a standard smartphone with a 6.4-inch display. It has a triple-camera configuration with a 5,600mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging.
