Prince Harry made a solo presentation in New York City on Friday, where he discussed a personal philosophy that has continued to impact his life, which he attributes to Meghan Markle.
At the 2025 NEXUS Global Summit, the Duke of Sussex engaged in a riveting conversation with NEXUS co-founder and CEO Rachel Gerrol in front of an audience of young philanthropists and impact investors.
During the talk, Harry remarked on the significance of honesty, saying that he and Meghan both believe in living "by truth."
"My wife said to me very early on in our relationship, If you live your life by truth, it's the most efficient way to live," he said.
"It's something she's lived by for a long time, and now I do too."
"So yes, we will continue to live our life by truth, and we will continue to stand up for what we believe in the difference between right and wrong," said the prince.
He also referred to Meghan Markle as "the most trolled person in the world," repeating the couple's past comments about dealing with public scrutiny and media attacks.
The phrase, combined with his emphasis on "truth," seems to refer to previous issues addressed in their explosive 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan.
In that series, Harry made a direct accusation: "They were willing to lie to protect my brother." They were never willing to share the truth to keep us safe."
More lately, Meghan herself alluded to falsehoods about her time as a working royal.
In a vulnerable moment on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, she was asked whether she would have done anything differently to shift the public perception.
While she did not provide specifics, her tone indicated ongoing irritation with how she was depicted and, as she has already stated, misunderstood.
