Prince William and Princess Kate are looking forward to some much-needed family time, but this year is particularly significant.
With huge changes on the horizon, the Prince and Princess of Wales want to cherish every minute with their children, especially as their oldest, Prince George, begins a new chapter.
George, who turns 12 on July 22, will begin his final year at Lambrook School in September, when he will share the campus with Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis for the final time.
Following that, he will enter secondary school, marking a significant milestone not only academically but also personally and royally.
Kate is typically seen gently guiding her son throughout each engagement, assisting him in navigating the rising limelight as he approaches adolescence.
Former BBC royal journalist Jennie Bond stated, "The reality of his destiny has begun to hit home."
Bond told The Mirror: "He seems pretty serious when he's on parade these days.
Charlotte is modest, Louis appears cheeky, and George occasionally appears concerned to me. Who can blame him?
With the weight of the crown hanging on his young shoulders as future king, George is already experiencing firsthand the obligations that come with monarchy, as he watches his grandpa, King Charles, carry out the job he will assume.
Still, Bond made it obvious that George is not a serious figure. "He's not, by any means, always a serious little chap," she told me.
"When he's with his dad at a football match or fooling around with his siblings and father, he has a wonderful smile on his face and seems happy and relaxed."
