Despite a huge Palace shakeup, Prince William is aggressively researching ways to reward his two faithful cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
When King Charles succeeded to the throne, he made it plain that the monarchy would be reduced in order to relieve financial burden on the Crown and focus on other vital issues.
However, attitudes shifted once the King declared that he had cancer, and Kate Middleton revealed her own cancer diagnosis a month later. While the Princess of Wales is currently in remission, she continues to get weekly treatments.
The absence of the most senior royals sparked debate over whether the slimmed-down monarchy was a good idea. At the time, it was also assumed that Beatrice and Eugenie would play an important part in defending the monarchy.
While Charles adores his nieces, who have attended a number of important royal events with and on his behalf, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's daughters do not yet hold high royal posts. However, royal author Ingrid Seward predicts that this will alter once William takes over.
"When William ascends the throne, Beatrice and Eugenie will be valuable assets, and I'm certain they will get involved with royal duties," she told Hello!, a magazine. "It makes perfect sense, because he will need them."
She added that the sisters may form a "double act" by working together in the same way as a married pair. "Two beautiful princesses working together as sisters would be extremely strong. "I think it would be wonderful, and I believe it will happen," she stated.
Seward stressed that the King remains steadfast in his support for the slimmed-down monarchy, which is why he has delegated the duty of bringing Beatrice and Eugenie "into the fold" to Prince William.
The royal author believes that the sisters will play a role comparable to the Duke and Duchess of Kent, gradually taking center stage when the time is perfect.
