Jason Segel, who played the funny, likeable, and all-around lovely man Marshall Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother, has shown interest in reprising his character on the spinoff series.
For nine seasons, Segel featured in the CBS sitcom. When asked if he would star in the How I Met Your Father spinoff, the actor reacted positively.
"Those folks altered my life," he said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "I would do everything they requested of me."
Segel would not be the first How I Met Your Mother talent to switch between shows. Cobie Smulders featured in the season 1 finale of How I Met Your Father, while Neil Patrick Harris made a very famous surprise appearance earlier this week during the season 2 premiere.
The show's creators, Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, recently told Entertainment Weekly that they had "plotlines for all the original characters," including Segel.
"Now it's just a matter of sorting things out and hope that individuals are available and willing to do it when the time comes," Berger added. "But yeah, we believe it's a lot of fun, and it expands our universe, and it fulfils people on a really deep level, so we love to do it, and we have ideas."
