Rupert Grint recently stated why he felt "suffocated" for a decade while filming the Harry Potter series.
Grint, who portrayed Harry Potter's closest buddy Ron Weasley in the eight films, told Bustle, "Potter was so full on — [filming] all year, then we'd promote the rest of the time. It was quite suffocating."
"I wanted a pause, to ponder on things," he added. It was an out-of-body experience for a while, but I believe we completed on time."
"If we had gone on, things may have gone downhill," the actor said.
Grint also pointed out that "the borders between his off-screen character and Ron grew to blur as the franchise developed".
"I was experiencing the challenge of being noticed, of being overshadowed," the actor admitted.
"In the movies, we fused into one," he explained. I was playing myself by the end of it. The lines had become hazy."
Grint described Ron as his second name and said, "I still answer to Ron if somebody calls."
Grint stated in another interview with GQ that he would be delighted to see HP converted into a TV programme.
Grint also shared an emotional moment with Emma Watson during the Harry Potter reunion last year.
"We're family and will always be. "It's a powerful tie, and we'll always be in one other's life," he said.
