Simon Cowell is said to have been of considerable assistance to his close friend Cheryl, who has been hoping to adopt a baby before her son's sixth birthday.
Following the birth of her newborn boy, Bear Grey Payne, whom she shares with ex Liam Payne, the Fight for This Love singer has been outspoken about her desire to have more than one kid.
"The epidemic delayed everything for Cheryl," a source told Closer Magazine. When she initially began researching sperm donors and scheduling meetings with doctors, she felt the clock was already ticking."
"Now she's had to confront the truth that she's getting older, which hasn't been easy for her to accept."
Cheryl would have a baby if she could. She is split between giving it her all to have another child, whether through adoption or a sperm donor, and letting it go.
According to the site, the singer is hoping to adopt and has sought advice from the music mogul and other pals who have adopted children.
"Cheryl has had lengthy discussions about it with close friends, including Simon Cowell, who suggested she speak to Sinitta, who adopted her two daughters," according to the source.
"Right now, she's busy working on her new programme and recovering her confidence back in the public limelight," a source said of her job.
"If anybody understands that life doesn't always go as planned, it's Cheryl, and she says that whatever happens, she has all she needs with Bear and considers herself the happiest girl in the world to have her kid at her side."
