Prince Harry acknowledges that media intrusion into his life has caused him to doubt his close ones.
The Duke of Sussex acknowledges that he and his brother, Prince William, were compelled to be sceptical of their close circle in order to locate the leaker of confidential information.
In his biography 'Spare,' he writes: "We started by scrutinising our immediate circle, questioning our most trusted friends — and their acquaintances. Who were they conversing with? Who had they confided in? No one was immune to suspicion, and no one could be."
Harry goes on: "We even questioned our bodyguards, who we had previously revered. (Hell, I was now an official bodyguard—the Queen's bodyguard.) They'd always been to us like older brothers. But they were now suspects as well. That is how poisonous distrust has grown."
The memoir of Prince Harry is now available in bookstores.
