Prince Harry has admitted that he was distraught when a teacher accused him of cheating on an art test at Eton.
The Duke of Sussex has spoken up about the psychological hardship he went through after a teacher accused him of cheating.
Meghan Markle's husband also appeared to criticise the Firm for not issuing a statement or allowing him to have a news conference to dispute the allegations.
In his autobiography Spare, Harry described the incident, writing, "I was accused of cheating."
"An art instructor came out with proof of cheating, which turned out not to be evidence of cheating," he said. It turned out to be nothing, and the test board eventually approved me. But the harm had already been done."
"The accusation stuck," Harry remarked. I wanted to make a statement, have a news conference, and tell the world: I did the work! "I did not cheat!" I couldn't because the Palace wouldn't let me. The Palace followed the family motto in this, as in other things: Never complain, never explain. Especially if the complainant was a young man of eighteen. As a result, I was obliged to sit silently as the publications labelled me a cheat and a stupid every day."
